A woman of both compassion and courage! Japan's SEGA, through its prize figure division "SEGA PRIZE," is set to release new character figures from the classic anime series "Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai," which is currently airing! Following protagonists Dai and Hyunckel, the next character to join the lineup is the female warrior Maam! She is scheduled for release starting September 17th.

"Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai" (ドラゴンクエスト ダイのだいぼうけん) is an adaptation of Japan's beloved national RPG series, "Dragon Quest." Written by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Koji Inada, it began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1989, concluding with 37 tankobon volumes. A new anime adaptation premiered in October 2020. The story follows the epic journey of protagonist Dai, a once-weak boy who, through a series of adventures and battles, gradually grows into a true hero.
Maam (マァム), who joined Dai and Popp early in their journey, was a rare female companion in the early party. With her striking looks, she possesses a kind and compassionate heart, despite her occasional rough demeanor. Her initial class was a Priestess Warrior, and since she couldn't use offensive spells, she wielded a "Magic Bullet Gun" (魔弾銃) as her weapon. Later, feeling her own limitations, she decided to train alone and re-classed as a Martial Artist, becoming a crucial force in the latter half of the story. Her complex and intriguing relationships with Popp and Hyunckel also add an interesting dynamic to the narrative.
This SEGA PRIZE Maam figure stands approximately 21 cm tall and captures Maam in her early Priestess Warrior attire. Even beneath her priestly robes, Maam's impressive physique is evident. Her dynamic pose, holding the Magic Bullet Gun ready to fire, is incredibly lively. Fans of Maam will definitely want to check this out!
