X-PLUS Japan recently unveiled the painted prototype for the latest entry in their popular 2.5-head-tall sofubi figure series, "DefoReal", featuring "Godzilla Ultima". The reveal took place during their online event, "Great Monster Summer Festival 2021". A release date has yet to be announced.

The Godzilla monster appearing in the all-new anime series "Godzilla Singular Point" was designed by animator Eiji Yamamori, who crafted a fresh style based on the original 1954 Godzilla. Within the series, Godzilla is depicted in ancient Japanese ukiyo-e prints, where its name is written as "古史羅" (Gojira). It possesses the ability to manipulate its own evolving DNA, and has so far appeared in four distinct forms. The fourth form, "Godzilla Ultima", is the closest in appearance to previous iterations of Godzilla, capable of unleashing a devastating atomic breath from its mouth that can instantly engulf cities in flames.

The "DEFOREAL Godzilla Ultima" faithfully recreates the monster's in-show appearance with an adorable 2.5-head-tall proportion. It meticulously captures the realistic, rough black skin, unique thick jaws, and sharp teeth. The branch-like, vein-esque pattern on its dorsal fins is also reproduced with red paint. Its short arms and tiny eyes give it an unexpectedly charming look, though its characteristically long tail feels a bit understated in this particular rendition.
