US collectibles brand MONDO, known for its wide range of toys, art posters, apparel, and comics, officially announced a new addition to its "GODZILLA MUSEUM" series yesterday (the 17th). The new "Godzilla - The Animated Series" statue, inspired by the 1970s Godzilla animated show, is now available for pre-order on their official website, with shipping expected to begin in Summer 2022.

The American animated series "Godzilla," which premiered in 1978, follows the adventures of scientist Carl Majors and his expedition team. In this iteration, "Godzilla" is a giant green dinosaur-like monster and a loyal companion to the crew. In the first half of the debut episode, "The Firebird," as the team's ship faced being engulfed by a massive wave, Carl famously called upon Godzilla to "lift" the vessel to safety – a truly dependable ally! The animated series also features a smaller monster named Godzooky, who accompanies the expedition team on their journeys.

The "GODZILLA MUSEUM: Godzilla (1978 Animated Series)" figure stands approximately 19 cm tall. It faithfully recreates the iconic green skin, distinct head, dorsal fins, and tail spikes seen in the show. The sculpted details on its body also perfectly capture the animated series' visual style. With its relatively rounded physique, stout thighs, and tail, the overall look exudes a strong sense of charming whimsy. Collectors can choose to display it alone or paired with its included base. For long-time Godzilla toy collectors and kaiju fans, this American animated version of Godzilla is undoubtedly a highly appealing addition to any collection!

▼ The American animated version of Godzilla notably replaced the classic roar from the Japanese Godzilla film series with a powerful, beast-like bellow. Furthermore, its atomic breath ability was changed to simply spewing fire.
