Remember the ">"Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" themed sofubi toys released by five artists from Taiwan and Hong Kong during TTF 2020? This time, U-iii (有亦文創), a Taiwanese creative company that holds the official Tatsunoko Production license for "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン), has once again partnered with Taiwanese designer toy brand Momoco Studio (毛毛二) to launch a brand-new series in capsule toy form: "Ocean Gatchaman Mobilize!!" Special Edition! This collection will be available for online purchase, with an estimated shipping date of September 1, 2021.
The long-dormant God Phoenix is reactivated, and the five warriors of peace emerge! These new capsule toys are crafted from PVC, standing at a palm-sized height of approximately 5 to 6 cm. Ken the Eagle (G-1), the leader, is reimagined as "Shark Bite"; Joe the Condor (G-2) is the striking new character "Killer Whale Agu"; Jun the Swan (G-3) takes on a pink hue as "Dolphin Sister"; Jinpei the Swallow (G-4) is the often-eaten "Saury Classmate"; and finally, Ryu the Owl (G-5) is embodied by the round and plump "Whale Shark Tun Tun."
Each capsule toy perfectly blends Momoco Studio's signature characters with the distinct aesthetics and costume features of the "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" members, resulting in incredibly cute and dynamic poses! Furthermore, the iconic visors on the Gatchaman team uniforms are recreated with various translucent colored parts, making the complete set look absolutely fantastic when displayed together, truly capturing that team spirit!
