GOOD SMILE COMPANY's popular model kit series, "MODEROID," is set to re-release the "Soyuz Rocket + Transport Train" (ソユーズロケット+搬送列車) model kit, which originally debuted in 2018. This marks its second re-release and is scheduled for December 2021.
Space exploration has always been a testament to humanity's relentless ambition, with countless missions gradually extending our reach beyond Earth over the decades. The Soyuz Rocket stands as a prime symbol of human hope, first launched in 1960. It reached its peak in the early 1980s, with up to 60 launches annually, making it the most frequently launched rocket in the world. Its low cost and high reliability led to a record of over 1,700 total launches, far surpassing other rockets.
This MODEROID kit, originally released in 2018 under the MECHA SMILE (メガスマ) brand, features the Soyuz Rocket and its Transport Train. Crafted in 1/150 scale, the completed model stands approximately 32 cm tall and includes a dedicated display stand. Beyond the rocket itself, the accompanying transport train is also meticulously detailed. Its wheel gauge is specially designed at 9mm, making it compatible with standard N-gauge railway models. This allows for detailed separation of the rocket's various sections, while the train itself can also be appreciated as a railway model. Every component is meticulously detailed, and the transport train's adjustable lifting platform is fully reproduced, making this a must-have for fans of astronomy and space exploration.
