BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, known for its Real Grade (RG) Gunpla series that integrates intricate inner frames, interlocking armor, and advanced technologies into 1/144 scale kits, today announced the latest addition from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children": the RG 1/144 Hi-Nu Gundam Dedicated Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher. This new release is slated for September 2021 and will be exclusively available through the official Premium Bandai online store.
The Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher first made its appearance in the novel "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children." This colossal beam weapon, utilized by the Earth Federation Forces' Londo Bell unit, enables Amuro Ray's Hi-Nu Gundam to unleash a MEGA particle cannon blast with firepower surpassing that of an entire battleship. In the novel, it was deployed to destroy the nuclear propulsion engine pushing the asteroid Axis, even obliterating a Musaka-class battleship—dubbed the "Shield of Axis"—with a single devastating shot. However, its immense size prevents it from being carried directly; it is typically stored within the Londo Bell's Ra Cailum battleship and requires the entire vessel's power supply for activation.
This commercialized model kit faithfully recreates the design penned by mechanical designer Yanase Takayuki for the 2016 manga adaptation of "Beltorchika's Children." The kit is constructed with entirely new parts, resulting in an impressive 30 cm long barrel once assembled. It meticulously reproduces Yanase Takayuki's precise details and sharp styling, including the mechanical arm for shoulder connection and the coolant containers.
The accessory set includes two clear black molded display stands, an energy pipeline and pipeline ejection device for the Ra Cailum battleship, and newly designed Realistic Decals. These can be combined with the separately sold RG 1/144 Hi-Nu Gundam to recreate powerful and dynamic shooting scenes!
