Following their releases of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in their Endor gear, and the adorable Ewok scout Wicket, Hong Kong-based toy maker Hot Toys has just unveiled its latest creation from "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi": the Scout Trooper! This article covers the MMS611 single-figure release, which is slated for shipment between Q3 and Q4 2022.
Scout Troopers serve as the reconnaissance soldiers for the Galactic Empire. Compared to other Imperial units, Scout Troopers are typically lightly armored and are often seen piloting 74-Z Speeder Bikes, making them a highly mobile cavalry unit. In "Return of the Jedi," these troopers had to navigate the dense forest moon of Endor at incredible speeds. Their helmets are equipped with advanced technology that enhances their field of vision, allowing them to safely conduct patrols and reconnaissance missions at high velocity.
This figure stands approximately 30.5 cm tall and features over 30 points of articulation. It faithfully recreates the Scout Trooper's signature helmet, white armor, black undersuit, and leather-like gloves, all based on the film's designs. The utility pouch on the abdomen and the belt straps are rendered in an off-white color, and the entire figure is finished with realistic weathering effects, making it look as if it just returned from a mission in the forests of Endor! Accessories include a compact blaster pistol, a newly designed blaster rifle with a sniper scope, and multiple interchangeable hands. For collectors interested in a sand-weathered look, be sure to check out the Scout Trooper from "The Mandalorian".
