Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division announced today (the 25th) that the latest additions to the RG (Real Grade) plastic model series from "Rebuild of Evangelion" – the "RG Evangelion Unit-01 (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time)" and the "RG Evangelion Dedicated Restraint and Mobile Launch Platform Set" – will soon be available for pre-order on Premium Bandai.
Released in 2020, the original "RG EVA Unit-01" kit garnered high praise for its ability to faithfully recreate the on-screen appearance with simple assembly, thanks to its multi-colored molded parts and pre-painted components. Upholding the RG series' signature features, it boasts a meticulously designed internal frame and precise segmentation of its numerous armor parts (restraints). The joints allow for flexible, human-muscle-like movements, complemented by interlocking mechanisms in certain armor sections for even more natural posing, perfectly capturing iconic stances such as crouching, running, and berserk states.
This new version builds upon the standard kit, featuring fresh molded colors with a more pronounced light-dark contrast and the inclusion of the Cassius' Spear part, accurately depicting its appearance in "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time." Furthermore, the "RG Evangelion Dedicated Restraint and Mobile Launch Platform (Transport Platform) Set," originally bundled with the first-run limited edition of the "RG EVA Unit-01," will now be sold separately. More detailed information will be revealed soon.
