Ignite your Sentai spirit! Japanese toy company EVOLUTION TOY is set to release the iconic giant robot Daidenjin and the mobile base Denji Tiger from the classic Japanese tokusatsu series "Denshi Sentai Denjiman," part of the beloved Super Sentai Series. This highly anticipated set is slated for a February 2022 release.
Produced by Toei, "Denshi Sentai Denjiman" premiered in 1980 as the fourth installment in the Super Sentai Series. The story begins 3,000 years ago when the Denji Star was obliterated by the nefarious Vader Clan. Before its destruction, the Denji Star dispatched Denji Island to Earth. Three millennia later, with the Vader Clan's invasion looming, Denji Island's systems reactivate. The long-dormant Denji Dog IC then awakens, selecting five brave warriors to form the "Denshi Sentai Denjiman" and fight to protect Earth.
The five members of the Denshi Sentai pilot the colossal robot Daidenjin (ダイデンジン) in their battles against evil. This advanced machine, crafted by the Denji Star people from Denji Alpha Steel, is distinguished by the prominent "D" on its chest and boasts impressive transformation capabilities. It typically operates in its aerial form, the Denji Fighter (デンジファイター). Their mobile fortress, the Denji Tiger (デンジタイガー), serves as an all-terrain carrier capable of traversing land, sea, and air. This versatile mothership can house the Denji Fighter and is noted for its incredible speed, reaching up to Mach 8.
EVOLUTION TOY's rendition of Daidenjin and Denji Tiger flawlessly captures their iconic interactions from the original series. The Denji Tiger mothership measures approximately 33 cm in length and can transform into its three distinct modes for land, sea, and air travel. Its nose cone also opens to store the Denji Fighter. Once deployed and transformed, Daidenjin stands at an impressive 16 cm tall. The set comes complete with a variety of accessories, including interchangeable hand parts, the Denji Ball weapon, a boomerang, and the Denji Sword. Both figures are meticulously crafted, making this a highly recommended collectible for tokusatsu enthusiasts.
