Aoshima Bunka Kyozai's ACKS brand, known for its "Variable Fighter Girl" (V.F.G.) plastic model kit series from the "Macross" franchise, has announced its latest release from "Macross Frontier": the "VF-25F Messiah Ranka Lee." This new kit is slated for release in May 2022, following the previous VF-25G Super Messiah Klan Klang.
The "Variable Fighter Girl" (V.F.G.) line brings the iconic transforming Valkyries from the "Macross" series to life, pairing them with a beautifully designed and highly articulated "VF Girl" body. Both the mecha and the girl can be displayed individually, or combined through original mechanisms to create various hybrid forms, resulting in dynamic and adorable mecha girl designs.
Following the well-received Klan Klang release, Aoshima has once again shifted its approach from original character designs, opting instead to feature existing in-series characters. This latest entry from "Macross Frontier" spotlights the energetic and adorable diva, Ranka Lee, paired with the VF-25F Messiah, the variable fighter piloted by her love interest, Alto Saotome.
The kit features multi-color molded parts and includes both stickers and water-slide decals to accurately reproduce its specific color scheme. Consistent with previous entries in the series, the Messiah can transform into its three iconic modes—FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID—through a combination of partial transformation and interchangeable parts. These modes can then be combined with the Ranka Lee body to create the unique mecha girl configuration. Additionally, special interchangeable parts are included to allow Ranka to recreate her outfit from the famous song "Dynam Chogokin"!
Ranka comes with three pre-painted face parts, her iconic giant salamander cell phone, her pet Ai-kun, dedicated interchangeable hands, and a microphone, allowing collectors to recreate the classic KIRA☆ pose from her signature song "Seikan Hikou." The Messiah's weapon also incorporates numerous Ranka-themed elements, including the distinct giant salamander cell phone design, the KIRA☆ pattern from "Seikan Hikou," and a carrot motif that pays homage to her famous song "Carrots Loves you yeah!"
