GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series, "POP UP PARADE," announced today (26th) the upcoming release of new figures featuring Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu from the hit anime film "Your Name." These figures are slated for a December 2021 launch.
"Your Name." is the sixth feature-length animated film directed by Japanese animation director Makoto Shinkai. Masayoshi Tanaka served as character designer, with Ryunosuke Kamiki and Mone Kamishiraishi voicing the two protagonists. The story unfolds as the Tiamat Comet, which visits Earth every 1,200 years, approaches. A Tokyo boy, Taki Tachibana, and a girl from the remote mountain town of Itomori, Mitsuha Miyamizu, mysteriously swap bodies in their sleep. They decide to communicate and guide each other through their respective lives, sometimes bickering, sometimes enjoying the novelty of the other's existence, and gradually realizing the indelible mark they've left on each other's hearts....
The "POP UP PARADE Taki Tachibana & Mitsuha Miyamizu" figures are based on the iconic movie poster scene where the two characters look back over their shoulders. They capture their expressions of both familiarity and slight confusion, with finely sculpted wrinkles in their uniforms. Intricate details like metallic buttons, school emblems, and the glossy finish of their leather shoes are faithfully recreated through meticulous paintwork and tampo printing, enhancing the charm of both characters.
