Japanese toy company Good Smile Company is set to release a new addition to its best-selling Nendoroid figure series: the adorable Marvel Comics character, Gwenpool! This highly anticipated Nendoroid is slated for a February 2022 release.
The character of Gwenpool originated from Gwen Stacy of Spider-Man fame. Marvel Comics later developed Gwen into a new character, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Poole, whose backstory involves her arriving in the Marvel comic universe from the real world. Familiar with the comic world, she visited a superhero costume shop and requested a unique outfit from a tailor named Ronnie. However, Ronnie mistakenly took Gwen's real name, "Gwen Poole," as her hero name, "Gwenpool," and consequently created a Deadpool-style costume for her. Thus, the character of Gwenpool was born.
This Nendoroid rendition of Gwenpool perfectly captures her adorable comic book aesthetic, featuring her signature white and pink Deadpool-style costume. The design of her lower body accentuates her appealing physique. For interchangeable expressions, she comes with four face plates: a masked standard face, a masked panicked face, an unmasked smiling face, and an unmasked tongue-out face. Additional accessories include a hood resembling Deadpool's, her twin swords and sheaths stored on her back, her beloved "Penguin Backpack," a "THE END" clear plate for recreating memorable scenes, and her cutest pet, Jeff the Land Shark, whose front legs are also articulated!
