Japanese figure manufacturer Megahouse recently announced the latest addition to their "Gundam Guys Generation (GGG)" series of completed male character figures from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" franchise: the "Char Aznable Normal Suit Ver." This new figure is slated for release in June 2022.
The legendary Universal Century figure, Char Aznable, was born Casval Rem Deikun, son of Zeon Zum Deikun, founder of the Republic of Zeon. After his father's assassination by the dictatorial, warmongering Zabi family, his mother fled with young Casval and his sister Artesia, eventually dying of grief. Facing relentless persecution from the Zabi family, Casval's actions grew increasingly radical upon arriving on Earth. He possessed immense talent and ideals but was willing to betray anyone to achieve his goals. Adopting the alias Char Aznable, he infiltrated the Zeon military academy, becoming the Federation Forces' dreaded "Red Comet" on the surface, but secretly remaining Zeon Deikun's son, determined to exact revenge on the Zabi family by any means necessary.
The "GGG Char Aznable Normal Suit Ver." figure immortalizes the iconic scene from the anime where Char assassinates Kycilia Zabi, the eldest daughter of the Zabi family, with a bazooka. Char's normal suit is sculpted with intricate wrinkle details and taut muscle lines, while his jetpack features dynamic thruster effects. His left hand, posed as if waving, evokes his chilling line to the deceased Garma: "This is my farewell gift to you. I hope you and your sister get along well." Furthermore, Char's handsome face comes with three interchangeable head sculpts: helmeted, unhelmeted, and helmeted without the visor.
