Following their releases of protagonists Li Xiaoyao, Lin Yueru, and Zhao Ling'er from the classic Wuxia RPG "The Legend of Sword and Fairy" developed by Taiwan's Softstar Entertainment, Japanese toy giant GOODSMILE COMPANY is expanding its popular "Nendoroid" action figure series. The game's third female protagonist, "A-Nu", is officially joining the collection and is slated for a June 2022 release.
A Miao maiden, clever as a sprite,
First tastes of love, a newfound delight.
The fallen petals wish to join as one,
To be a star beside the moon and sun.
Fans of the iconic RPG will instantly recognize the poem that defines A-Nu. As the third heroine of the original story, A-Nu is the young, clever, and adorable daughter of the White Miao Tribe's chief. Despite her youth, she is an exceptionally talented user of witchcraft and poison arts. She first crosses paths with Li Xiaoyao when he mistakes her for Zhao Ling'er. Over the course of their journey, A-Nu develops deep feelings for him but, due to the circumstances, can only keep them to herself while continuing to aid him. In later installments of the series, she becomes the new leader of the Witch-Moon Sect, adopting the name Hai Tang and taking Li Xiaoyao's granddaughter, Xiao Man, as her apprentice.
Just like the previous releases in this line, Nendoroid A-Nu is produced by Good Smile Arts Shanghai. The figure includes three interchangeable face plates for a variety of expressions. Her accessories feature her signature staff and the iconic flute she plays in the game's ending as she watches Li Xiaoyao depart. This release also comes with a special Peach Blossom Forest background sheet, allowing collectors who own the other characters to create a more complete and atmospheric display.
