Bandai's Gashapon division has officially unveiled the painted prototype for the latest entry in their "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE" series, the "EX33 Destiny Gundam," from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny." This highly anticipated capsule toy line is known for its common joint system and infinite customization options. Pre-orders are set to open on Premium Bandai on September 6th.
The ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam is the ultimate mobile suit developed by ZAFT under the direct orders of P.L.A.N.T. Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Durandal, just before the decisive battle with the Earth Alliance. Serving as the successor unit for ZAFT pilot Shinn Asuka, the Destiny Gundam was developed based on the Impulse Gundam's design. It integrates the capabilities of the Force, Blast, and Sword Silhouette systems into a single unit. Furthermore, it utilizes technologies prohibited by the Junius Treaty, such as the Hyper Deuterion Engine and Mirage Colloid particles. This allows it to deploy the "Wings of Light" for extreme acceleration and scatter Mirage Colloid particles to create afterimages, making its performance vastly superior to second-generation mobile suits like the Impulse Gundam.
Despite its chibi-style, low-head-to-body ratio, the "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE EX33 Destiny Gundam" boasts an impressive array of features, including its powerful large Wings of Light, the "Arondight" Beam Sword, a High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, a Beam Rifle, Beam Shield, and Beam Boomerang. The shoulder joints adopt the same design as the Freedom Gundam, allowing for more flexible articulation. A dedicated display stand is also included, which can connect with the "EX31 Strike Freedom Gundam" stand to recreate iconic battle scenes.
