Bandai's Gashapon division today announced the latest entry in its "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE" capsule toy line, known for its universal joint system and infinite customization possibilities. Straight from "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE," the new "EX34 Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa Set" is slated for a January 2022 release. This item will be sold exclusively through the official Premium Bandai online shop.
The Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa is the mobile suit piloted by an elderly Flit Asuno during the fourth arc of "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE." By A.G. 164, the half-century-old Gundam AGE-1 was severely outdated compared to the contemporary forces of the Earth Federation and Vagan. To bring it up to spec, its signature wear-swapping system was removed, and the base AGE-1 Normal was upgraded with heavy armor plating and missile launchers across its body, drastically improving its fundamental performance. Its arms were equipped with "Shield Rifles," which serve as both offensive and defensive weapons. For a further boost in firepower and mobility, it was outfitted with back-mounted "Glastron Launchers," which combine beam cannons and thrusters.
The "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE EX34 Gundam AGE-1 Full Glansa Set" features the main mobile suit body constructed with numerous newly sculpted parts. The dual Shield Rifles can be fitted with beam effect parts, and the back-mounted Glastron Launchers can pivot forward to replicate their firing positions.
The accessory set also includes a set of interchangeable parts to recreate the Gundam AGE-1 Normal, featuring improved shoulder joints. Even more impressive, the set comes with the "Plasma Diver Missile," a weapon powerful enough to destroy a colony in a single shot, and the "bronze statue of Flit" seen standing in front of the Gundam Museum in A.G. 164.
Interestingly, the "Plasma Diver Missile" was originally planned to be a massive 16cm long accessory, but it had to be scaled down due to cost and pricing considerations.
