Bandai's Gashapon division, known for its "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE" capsule toy series for "Mobile Suit Gundam" – a line celebrated for its interchangeable joint system and endless customization – has officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny": the "Destiny & Freedom Gundam Wings of Light Set," slated for release in January 2022. This item will be a Premium Bandai exclusive.
Mobile Suits appearing in the later stages of "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" featured increasingly flashy designs and weaponry. The two main protagonist Mobile Suits from "DESTINY," the Strike Freedom Gundam and Destiny Gundam, were notably equipped with new thrusters developed from the "Voiture Lumiere" system, which converts solar wind into propulsion. This not only granted the Mobile Suits superior mobility but also made the spectacular "Wings of Light" design a commercial success.
The newly released "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE Destiny & Freedom Gundam Wings of Light Set" requires the separately sold "EX31 Strike Freedom Gundam" and "EX33 Destiny Gundam" for use. The set includes Wings of Light effect parts for both Mobile Suits, crafted from clear material. While the texture isn't particularly unique, these six parts come with a rather hefty price tag of 1,650 JPY.
