Japanese toy brand WAVE, known for its extensive lineup of model kits and PVC scale figures, is set to release a new plastic model kit of TEKKAMAN BLADE, the iconic transformed hero piloted by D-Boy from Tatsunoko Production's classic sci-fi mecha anime, "Tekkaman Blade". The kit is scheduled for a November 2021 release.
The series "Tekkaman Blade" (宇宙の騎士テッカマンブレード) was produced by the renowned animation studio Tatsunoko Production and first aired on TV Tokyo in Japan in 1992. The story follows protagonist Takaya Aiba (nicknamed D-Boy), who, along with his family, is captured by the alien force known as Radam during a space voyage and transformed into Tekkamen. D-Boy is saved by his father, allowing him to retain his original consciousness, though he becomes an incomplete Tekkaman. He is then forced to confront his own family members, who have been brainwashed and transformed into Tekkamen, leading to a series of battles against his loved ones and a cruel struggle with reality.
