BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan recently announced the upcoming release of the "RG Multipurpose Humanoid Decisive Weapon Artificial Human Evangelion Unit-01 (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time)" as the latest addition to their RG model kit series, set to launch in February 2022. This highly anticipated kit will be sold exclusively via Bandai's official online store, Premium Bandai.
The "RG EVA Unit-01" kit leverages a variety of pre-colored parts and pre-painted components, allowing for a highly accurate recreation of its on-screen appearance with simple assembly. True to the RG series' reputation, it features an intricately designed internal frame and precise segmentation across its various armor pieces (restraints). The joints are engineered to mimic human muscle movement, enabling dynamic and flexible posing. Furthermore, certain armor sections incorporate interlocking mechanisms, facilitating more natural movements and allowing collectors to recreate iconic stances such as crouching, sprinting, and berserk mode.
This particular version features new, higher-contrast molding colors, faithfully reflecting its appearance in "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time." Compared to the standard release, it boasts a more saturated purple exterior, complemented by fluorescent-colored eyes and armor details. Accessories include a variety of interchangeable hand parts, an Umbilical Cable, a Pallet Rifle, an Entry Plug, and both stored and deployed forms of the Progressive Knife. Crucially, this kit also adds the striking red "Spear of Cassius," allowing fans to recreate pivotal confrontation scenes from the film.
