To celebrate the fifth anniversary of its "MechatroWeGo" plastic model kit line, Japanese toy company Hasegawa is collaborating with the immensely popular "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series. Following the release of the first three entries in the 20 MechatroWeGo EVA series—"Evangelion Unit-00 + Rei Ayanami," "Evangelion Unit-02 + Asuka," and "Evangelion Unit-08 + Mari Illustrious Makinami"—the miraculous fourth installment, "Evangelion Mark.06 + Kaworu Nagisa," will now make its debut as a 1/20 scale model kit! Priced at 4,500 JPY, this kit is slated for a limited release in December 2021.
Designed by Kazushi Kobayashi of moderhythm, the "MechatroWeGo" is set in a fictional universe as a child-friendly robot developed by the Japanese company Chubu Mechatronics. Its smooth, rounded design, crafted specifically for children, exudes an adorable charm. The main body also functions as a protective, retractable cockpit capable of housing a child, a unique feature that has earned it the reputation as the world's smallest piloted robot. Its flexible limbs allow children to carry school bags, commute, and play games, bringing joy to their daily lives.
Kazushi Kobayashi, who previously contributed as a model maker to the "Rebuild of Evangelion" film series, is once again collaborating with "Evangelion" to release the 1/20 scale "20 Mechatro WeGo EVA" series. The dream fourth installment stars "Evangelion Mark.06 + Kaworu Nagisa," combining the distinctive color scheme of Evangelion Mark.06 with the adorable design of the MechatroWeGo unit. The back even features a finely detailed SEELE emblem! Additionally, an unpainted model of Kaworu Nagisa in his elementary school uniform is included. This chibi-style figure holds playful maracas in both hands, allowing him to join the previously released figures in the series to form a cheerful little band!
