Looking back at the new releases from major Japanese figure manufacturers in August, were there any PVC pre-painted figures that left a strong impression or had you reaching for your wallet to pre-order? Japan's largest hobby retail website, "AmiAmi (あみあみ)", operated by AmiAmi Co., Ltd., recently unveiled its August character figure pre-order rankings. Let's dive in and see which new releases were the hottest sellers!
This ranking is compiled by AmiAmi based on sales, pre-order numbers, and sales figures from its own channels between August 1st and August 31st, 2021, and is for reference only. In the August pre-order rankings, "Ryza," the ordinary farm girl protagonist from "Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout," claimed the top spot with two highly anticipated releases: an accessory-rich figma action figure and a stunningly sculpted 1/6 scale figure. Not to be outdone, Shonen Jump's "My Hero Academia" also showed impressive strength, with all three Nendoroids featuring their stealth suit designs from the movie making it into the rankings, marking an excellent performance for Nendoroid products overall.
