Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially unveiled the latest addition to its popular "METAL BUILD" alloy toy series: the "Justice Gundam" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," slated for release in January 2022.
The ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam is a next-generation Mobile Suit developed by the Z.A.F.T. military, fusing their proprietary technology with data from the GAT-X series MS. Piloted by Athrun Zala, the Justice Gundam, much like its sibling unit the Freedom Gundam, is equipped with a "Neutron Jammer Canceller," allowing its nuclear engine to operate and provide a nearly infinite energy supply. This ensures stable power output even when utilizing its Phase Shift armor and high-energy beam weapons simultaneously. The Justice Gundam's most distinctive feature is the "Fatum-00" drone unit mounted on its back, which boasts formidable firepower and enables diverse combination and separation tactics.
The "METAL BUILD Justice Gundam" has been meticulously supervised by Satoshi Shigeta, the mechanical animation director for "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED." Design duties were handled by the acclaimed team of Yoichi Sakamoto, Koma, Hiroyuki Hirose, and Masahiro Ishikawa, who previously developed highly-praised products such as the "MB Strike Freedom Gundam."
The main body of the Justice Gundam features a sleeker, sharper silhouette, enhanced with a wealth of intricate mechanical details. Its exterior armor showcases layered colors and a metallic sheen, achieved through various metallic and pearl coatings. The die-cast frame and articulated joints inherit the design principles of its sibling unit, the "Freedom Gundam CONCEPT 2," allowing for a wide range of dynamic battle poses.
The most significant transformation is seen in the distinctive "Fatum-00" drone armament on its back. Under the METAL BUILD interpretation, its volume has been significantly increased. When attached to the Justice Gundam's back, it creates a striking, knight-like silhouette, reminiscent of a flowing cape. When separated, a sliding mechanism allows the Fatum-00 to expand, providing a stable platform for the Justice Gundam to stand on, further enhancing its impressive presence and scale.
