Collectible brand Figurama Collectors is set to release a new "Elite Fandom Statue" from the 2019 anime adaptation of "Dororo": the "Dororo & Hyakkimaru" 1/6 scale diorama statue! This impressive piece is scheduled for Q3 2022 release.
Standing approximately 48 cm (19 inches) tall, this statue is meticulously crafted from polystone, PVC, alloy, and other materials. It vividly recreates the dynamic battle between Hyakkimaru, Dororo, and the Banmon Fox Demon. Hyakkimaru's iconic combat stance is powerfully captured, with his arm blades revealed and his prosthetic hands clenched between his teeth. His agile movement, sliding across wooden planks, perfectly showcases his nimble fighting style, while his flowing black hair and tattered clothing further enhance the sense of speed and intensity. Beside him, Dororo's anime-accurate costume is meticulously reproduced. Beyond the intricately sculpted attacking demon, the base features classic in-series elements such as a demon statue, Hyakkimaru's amulet, and a headless Kannon statue.
Following the initial reveal of the statue, Figurama Collectors made revisions to Dororo's facial expression based on extensive fan feedback. Her expression was changed from one of worry and fear to a resolute gaze, refusing to yield to the demon. For Hyakkimaru, an additional snarling, angry expression was added to the original two head sculpts, and his eyes were also adjusted, bringing the overall design even closer to the anime's aesthetic.
