Asmus Toys Unveils "The Lord of the Rings" Gollum and Sméagol 1/6 Scale Collectible Figures

Taiwanese toy design company Asmus Toys has officially unveiled their latest 1/6 scale collectible figures from "The Lord of the Rings," featuring Gollum and Sméagol! These figures are slated for release in the first quarter of 2022.

Gollum, originally a Hobbit named Sméagol, murdered his fishing companion Déagol to claim the gleaming "One Ring." From that moment, Sméagol's fate was sealed. His body and mind were relentlessly twisted by the Ring's power, transforming him into a treacherous, cowardly creature with a split personality, eventually becoming "Gollum." Gollum first appeared in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel "The Hobbit," and his story arc spans both "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogies. In his final act, he bit off Frodo's finger, seized the Ring, and plunged into the fiery chasm of Mount Doom with his beloved "Precious," perishing forever.

Capitalizing on Gollum's dual personality, Asmus Toys is releasing two distinct figures: the seemingly harmless Sméagol and the snarling, menacing Gollum. Both figures feature articulated eyes, allowing for a wide range of expressive poses. Standing approximately 20 cm tall, each figure boasts 22 points of articulation, meticulously recreating his sparse grey hair, dirt-stained body, and hairy feet. The intricate skin textures and the subtle gradient from pale to reddish tones are incredibly lifelike, giving the figures a strong sense of realism. Even the tattered loincloth covering his private parts is faithfully reproduced. Accessories include multiple interchangeable hands and a 1/6 scale fish.

▼ Additionally, Asmus Toys is also offering a special set that includes both Gollum and Sméagol, along with a rocky base featuring a pond.
