Unleash a Magical Barrage! Kotobukiya Announces Frame Arms Girl Magical Baselard Model Kit

Japanese hobby manufacturer Kotobukiya has officially revealed the latest addition to its popular bishoujo plastic model kit series, "Frame Arms Girl"! Today, the company announced that the "Magical Baselard" is scheduled for release in April 2022.

The original Frame Arms Girl Baselard is based on the aerial combat Frame Arms of the same name designed by Takayuki Yanase. She is an innocent girl with long blonde hair and a petite build, featuring "bunny girl" characteristics in her antennae and outfit. Baselard excels in high-speed aerial combat, and her back-mounted armament provides both incredible mobility and powerful beam weaponry. Her personality was further defined in the anime, where she is portrayed as cheerful and knowledgeable, but also childishly willful and a lovable, prank-loving troublemaker.

This new release is built upon the body of the "Baselard Animation Ver." kit, which was produced to Megami Device specifications. Based on her anime design, it utilizes the signature "Machineca" body from the Megami Device line to recreate her small and adorable physique, offering more natural and flexible articulation compared to the original FAG version. The color scheme has been updated for the magical girl theme, swapping to a dreamy palette of blue hair and a pink top. The kit also comes with three all-new face plates featuring purple eyes.

The armor parts are constructed using the newly sculpted "M.S.G EX Armor E". Molded in white and clear pink, these parts form a lightweight, magical girl-style skirt and a giant ribbon. The design also features intricate articulation, allowing the armor to be adjusted to accommodate various poses and minimize interference.

Her massive magical staff, the "Tsuru-ichi," is molded in two shades of gold to give it an antique, aged texture, while its central core is made from clear red parts. The staff can be disassembled and reconfigured into various forms, including a spear, a scythe, or a flight unit. By combining it with the included large, medium, and small magical circle effect parts, you can create dynamic poses worthy of a magical artillery girl!

The head uses a 5mm ball joint, making it compatible for head-swapping with figures from Kotobukiya's "Sousai Shojo Teien" series.
