Following the reveal of Zombie Hunter Spider-Man, Hong Kong-based toy brand Hot Toys has unveiled its second 1/6 scale collectible figure from the Marvel animated series "What If...?" – Captain Carter! The figure is expected to ship between Q1 and Q2 2023.
The following content may contain spoilers for "What If...?", please proceed with caution.
Standing approximately 29 cm tall with 28 points of articulation, this figure faithfully recreates Peggy Carter's transformation into Captain Carter, the symbol of hope who received the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers. Her fabric battle suit, based on a white, blue, and red color scheme, along with the faux-leather belt and shoulder straps, features exquisite stitching details and realistic textures. The hair sculpt perfectly captures her retro-style, medium-length curly hair from the show. The head sculpt, developed using anthropomorphic techniques based on the "What If...?" character design, showcases excellent skin texture and rosy cheeks. However, I personally feel there's a subtle cartoonish quality to the overall look.
Accessories include her iconic circular shield, a pistol, a long sword (as seen when facing monsters), and multiple interchangeable hands. Seeing the official images with the Hydra Stomper and a scrawny Steve makes me incredibly excited!
