"I'm your worst nightmare!"
US toy manufacturer NECA and gaming peripheral subscription service Loot Crate today unveiled their latest limited-edition product for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles": the "Dark Turtle"!
The "Dark Turtle" featured here hails from the "Night of the Dark Turtle" episode of the 1987 "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated series. His true identity is Donatello, the tech expert among the four Turtle brothers. Driven by a desire to prove the immense power of technology and his ability to defeat his arch-nemesis Shredder alone, Donatello crashed into a large generator during a battle with Shredder and was electrocuted into unconsciousness. Upon waking, his voice became deep, and his personality turned fierce and unruly. He even created a brand-new battle suit that strongly resembled Batman's, complete with a signature grappling gun – an incredibly cool and edgy transformation!
While detailed specifications and sales information for this figure have not yet been announced, it's estimated to be around 7 inches tall. The figure faithfully recreates the character's animated appearance, including the mask covering his upper face, a black cape with a purple lining, a turtle-emblem cape clasp, a belt adorned with a turtle shell-shaped device, and his fierce eyes. According to NECA, the cape will feature an integrated bendable wire for dynamic posing, and a smoke bomb accessory will be included. So cool!
