Following the announcement of the Asuka Shikinami Langley Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Provisional Plugsuit Ver. from "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," Japanese manufacturer Kotobukiya is now set to release her fellow pilot, the Mari Makinami Illustrious Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Provisional Plugsuit Ver. 1/6 scale figure! Priced at 14,080 JPY, the figure is slated for release in March 2022.
The new "Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Provisional Plugsuit," introduced in "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," was developed for the final battle and worn by both Asuka and Mari. It features a white base color accented with iridescent highlights and individual pilot-specific red and pink lines. As its name suggests, its primary function is to help the wearer adapt to extreme pressure changes.
Kotobukiya's "Mari Makinami Illustrious Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Provisional Plugsuit Ver." 1/6 scale figure stands approximately 24 cm tall and recreates Mari's elegant pose in the new plugsuit. The predominantly white plugsuit is highlighted with striking metallic pink accents, characteristic of Mari's style. Her signature red-framed glasses with clear lenses and dark brown low pigtails are meticulously sculpted. Her face captures a confident smile, almost as if she's letting out a playful "Meow~", perfectly embodying Mari's charming and carefree personality!
Continuing the series' aesthetic, the base features the head of "Evangelion Unit-08γ" sculpted in a stone-like finish, showcasing both intricate mechanical details and realistic rock textures, offering both quality and distinctiveness.
