The Aura of the Prototype! BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, known for its "ROBOT SPIRITS" line of posable robot action figures, has previously released numerous mecha from the "Aura Battler Dunbine" anime series (under the
First appearing in 1983, "Aura Battler Dunbine" (聖戦士ダンバイン) is a classic robot anime. Its story unfolds in Byston Well, an otherworldly realm nestled between land and sea, where Aura Battlers (ABs) from various nations are drawn into conflict. In 1988, an OVA titled "New Story of Aura Battler DUNBINE" was released, depicting a future 700 years later where Aura Battlers, thought to have vanished, reappear in Byston Well. The protagonist, Shion (a reincarnation of the original series' protagonist, Sho Zama), pilots the Serbin.
This Serbin figure features the "AURA FHANTASM" version design. AURA FHANTASM was an illustration series published in the model magazine "B-CLUB," where master mecha designer Yutaka Izubuchi reimagined Aura Battler designs. Compared to the original anime, these designs boast a unique stylistic flair, highly beloved by many fans. The ROBOT SPIRITS line has also released other mecha from this series, such as the previously featured "Welbin" (ヴェルビン), an evolution of the Billbine.
The ROBOT SPIRITS AURA FHANTASM version of the Serbin has been meticulously redesigned following the AURA FHANTASM aesthetic. Its primary color scheme more closely resembles the Dunbine, and its lines are even more streamlined. The figure boasts excellent articulation, allowing for dynamic poses like kneeling with the cockpit open. As for accessories, it includes the Serbin's standard Aura Sword, a beautifully detailed large shield, and interchangeable hand parts.
