Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, THE GUNDAM BASE, recently announced its latest event-exclusive item from "Mobile Suit MOON Gundam": the "HG 1/144 Bargil [Clear Color]," slated for release in October 2021.
The AMS-123X Bargil is a Newtype-exclusive commander unit secretly developed by Neo Zeon. This mobile suit, equipped with a next-generation Psycommu System, served as the prototype for the "MSN-04 Sazabi." Its armor is constructed from Gundarium alloy with a distinctive purple finish. Featuring numerous thrusters and a lightweight frame, it boasts exceptional mobility and agility. The unit is also equipped with six psycho-controlled Funnels on its back. In "Mobile Suit MOON Gundam," the damaged Bargil was repaired using the head and psycho plates from the "G-Doors" to become the protagonist's mobile suit, the "MOON Gundam."
The "HG 1/144 Bargil [Clear Color]" kit reuses most of the molds from the previously released HG 1/144 MOON Gundam, with the exception of the head and back-mounted Funnels. It features the HG line's characteristic excellent part separation, color molding, intricate detailing, and articulation. The legs incorporate an inner frame structure, and its armaments include the same Beam Tomahawk, Beam Rifle, and Beam Butterfly Knife as the MOON Gundam.
This event-exclusive version swaps out the exterior armor's mold colors for translucent purple and orange, creating a vibrant, glossy finish distinct from the standard release. This clear plastic also makes it easier for customizers to implement special modification techniques like internal lighting or glow-in-the-dark paints, offering a unique aesthetic compared to regular Gunpla kits.
