BANDAI SPIRITS' HOBBY Division in Japan is launching a brand new model kit series, "Exploring Lab Nature (エクスプローリングラボネイチャー)." The first release in the series will be the Ice Age animal, the "Mammoth," slated for release in February 2022!
Following the "Imaginary Skeleton" series, which recreated ancient creature fossils and skeletal specimens as model kits, the "Exploring Lab Nature Mammoth" takes things a step further. Not only does it feature a precisely engineered skeleton that allows builders to experience and understand its anatomical structure, complete with characteristic upward-curving tusks, but it also includes fur parts made from special molding materials. These parts enable the exterior to change color with temperature variations, perfectly replicating both the "skeletal state" of a specimen during excavation and its "restored state" covered in fur.
Furthermore, when chilled in a refrigerator (below 10°C), the Mammoth's fur will turn brown, reverting to its original Ice Age appearance!
