Good Smile Company has announced two new releases from the Toei tokusatsu series "Spider-Man": the "Toei Spider-Man" and Leopardon. This article will focus on the details of the Nendoroid series' "Toei Spider-Man" (Spider-Man Toei Version) action figure!
Produced by Japan's Toei Company, the "Spider-Man" tokusatsu series premiered in May 1978. It tells the story of the evil organization "Iron Cross Army," led by Professor Monster, attempting to conquer Earth. Young motorcycle racer Takuya Yamashiro, with the help of Garia, the last prince of Planet Spider, is injected with spider extract and gains a spider protective suit, becoming the superhero Spider-Man!
In addition to wall-crawling and sticking to ceilings, and using his unique "Spider-Sense" to detect enemies, Toei Spider-Man's coolest assets are his weapon-equipped, flying car, the "GP-7," and his giant combat robot, "Leopardon," whose "Sword Vigor" attack—drawing a sword from its right leg and throwing it—is a powerful finishing move! However, this version of Spider-Man has a weakness to cold.
Standing approximately 10 cm tall, this figure reinterprets the messenger from hell in the series' signature chibi proportions. With articulated arms, interchangeable arm and leg parts, and web effect pieces, you can recreate various iconic and delightfully humorous poses! It's truly a Toei Spider-Man toy that perfectly blends cuteness and coolness. Paired with the opening title's "Spider-Man" logo and a city backdrop sheet, it makes for an even more immersive display and play experience. Leopardon is sold separately, and collectors will definitely want to grab both!
