Bandai Candy, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently announced the latest addition to their new "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" (SMP) model kit series, evolving from the popular "SUPER MINIPLA" line. This highly anticipated "Hyakujuu Gattai GaoKnight" from "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger" is slated for release in January 2022. As a special offering, this item will be exclusively available through Bandai's official online store, Premium Bandai.
GaoKnight first appeared as a special Spirit King in the theatrical film "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger: Roar, Volcano!". This powerful entity is formed when the legendary fiery sacred beast "GaoKong" – the guardian deity of the Otherworld Island – awakens during an annular eclipse, accompanied by a volcanic eruption. GaoKong then combines with the Gaorangers' Power Animals to form the "Flame Spirit Knight," GaoKnight!
The "SMP Hyakujuu Gattai GaoKnight" set comes complete with all six Power Animals necessary for the combination: GaoKong, GaoEagle, GaoBison, GaoShark, GaoTiger, and a special black version of GaoElephant, faithfully recreating the limited-edition "DX Hyakujuu Gattai GaoKnight" toy from its original release. This allows fans to form the mighty GaoKnight with all six Power Animals. The Elephant Sword features a flexible design, allowing for dynamic posing to recreate its signature attack, the "Cosmic Big Bang Final Strike." The set also includes the "Muscle Anchor," an original weapon from the vintage toy!
