Drive out evil with a loyal heart! Bandai is bringing back its long-awaited "ARMOR PLUS" series with a Special Color Edition of Cye of the Torrent from "Ronin Warriors," originally released previously, now slated for a March 2022 launch.
Originally airing in 1988, "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" (known internationally as "Ronin Warriors") was produced by the renowned Sunrise studio, spanning 39 episodes. The story follows five protagonists, each with unique abilities and titles, who don battle armor called "Yoroi Gear" (鎧擬亜) — resembling traditional Japanese samurai armor — to fight against the evil forces led by the demonic emperor Arago.

Notably, the protagonist and armor designs in "Ronin Warriors" bear a striking resemblance to "Saint Seiya," which aired in 1986. The theme of humans donning armor for battle was highly popular at the time, and "Ronin Warriors" was indeed conceived under the influence of "Saint Seiya," ultimately becoming a classic in its own right.
Cye of the Torrent, whose real name is Shin Mouri, wears the light blue Yoroi Gear. He is a descendant of the Sengoku period general Mōri Motonari. His weapon is the "Twin Spear," and he is also known as the "Warrior of Water." His signature move, "Super Wave Crusher" (超流破), involves concentrating water energy into his spear to unleash a powerful wave attack. Upon activating his "Chō-Dandō" (Hyper Mode) awakening, it transforms into the "Hyper Wave Crusher" (超彈動超流破).
This new Special Color Edition is a revamped release based on the original version from 2011. The facial expressions have been significantly revised, with the entire original sculpt being remade. The hair and facial nuances are completely different from the previous version, making Shin Mouri appear much more dynamic. The overall armor coloring now features a stronger metallic finish.
