US toy giant Hasbro's "Star Wars: The Black Series" has announced a new action figure, the "George Lucas In Stormtrooper Disguise," to commemorate Lucasfilm's 50th Anniversary! It's slated for release in January 2022.
The scene in "Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope" where Luke Skywalker and Han Solo infiltrate the Death Star disguised as Imperial Stormtroopers is an absolute classic, and figures of the duo in their Stormtrooper armor are essential for many Star Wars fans. Now, Hasbro is bringing George Lucas himself to life as a Stormtrooper! The figure faithfully recreates the Stormtrooper's white armor and black bodysuit. The head sculpt features two display options: one with the iconic helmet, and another revealing a gray-haired, bearded Lucas. And of course, the essential accessory is the E-11 blaster rifle.
Beyond the figure itself, the backing card, designed after classic Kenner blister-carded figures, offers significant display and collector value. The "STAR WARS" and "KENNER" logos, along with the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary emblem in the upper left corner, look fantastic!
