BANDAI SPIRITS' premium collector's division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced that full details for the highly anticipated new weapon for the METAL BUILD series, the Lohengrin Launcher from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY," will be unveiled on October 7th.
In the original "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY" series, the Lohengrin Launcher is an expansion armament utilized by the Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second L. It's a miniaturized version of the Archangel-class battleship's Lohengrin Positron Blaster Cannon, capable of firing devastating barrages powered by a massive nuclear engine. Normally, the barrel is split into two sections and mounted on the rear skirt armor along with the engine. For deployment, the barrel sections combine and are shouldered for firing.
The METAL BUILD version takes this original design and further refines it, featuring a radically redesigned, sharper, and more angular aesthetic. It incorporates various sliding and opening mechanisms that reveal intricate internal details. Furthermore, this iteration introduces an automatic flight system, with transparent parts at the front of the backpack representing its detection and communication equipment. Beyond its original shoulder-mounted firing mode, it can also be used with its barrels split into symmetrical left and right cannons for separate firing. It's even designed to be equipped by other Astray series Mobile Suits, Strike Gundam series Mobile Suits, and can be used in conjunction with other backpack units.
