Following the release of the Android HB01, Japanese model maker Kaiyodo has announced the latest creation from visionary artist 'K' for its DIGITAL GARAGE KIT line: the stunning "Android HB02," scheduled for release in November 2021.
A rising star from an art university, the visionary sculptor 'K' specialized in automotive design while also cultivating a passion for sculpting the human form. After discovering the Wonder Festival event, 'K' debuted as a dealer in the summer of 2019, where their first digitally sculpted and 3D-printed garage kit, "Android EL01," immediately earned critical acclaim and was selected for the 38th Wonder Showcase. This led to a commercial collaboration with Kaiyodo to produce the highly praised "Hollow Body" series.
The second release in the Hollow Body series, "Android HB02," continues the signature style of its predecessor, fusing a realistically sculpted female head with a complex, interwoven mechanical torso that mimics the structure of human muscle and bone. The incredibly lifelike face creates the powerful illusion that "she is truly alive," while the inorganic materials masterfully express the curvaceous beauty of the human body in a truly outstanding design.
The kit is produced using a "Form2" stereolithography 3D printer and includes 6 unpainted, unassembled parts. Once the support material is removed, the pieces can be easily assembled with adhesive. The completed model stands at an impressive 28 cm (approx. 11 inches) tall, featuring precise details from the texture of the hair to the delicate facial features. The unique base design allows the work to be displayed like a piece of high-end interior decor.
