Good Smile Company, the Japanese manufacturer behind the immensely popular "Nendoroid" series with over a thousand unique releases, is adding new figures from the hit anime "Godzilla Singular Point." Following the previously announced "Nendoroid Yun Arikawa" and "Nendoroid Pelops II," fans can now look forward to the "Nendoroid Mei Kamino"! The Nendoroid Mei Kamino will retail for 6,400 JPY and is slated for an August 2022 release.
Directed by Atsushi Takahashi and co-produced by studios BONES and Orange, the completely original anime "Godzilla Singular Point" features a story penned by writer Toh Enjoe. Breaking away from traditional Japanese kaiju film tropes, the series establishes a complex world, rich scientific theories, and abundant sci-fi elements. Through the gradual unraveling of mysteries by its human protagonists—the genius scientist Mei Kamino and AI researcher Yun Arikawa—the anime subtly portrays the enigmatic allure of the kaiju. The show is also packed with iconic scene Easter eggs that pay homage to classic "Godzilla" works, enhancing the viewing experience.
Standing approximately 10 cm tall, the "Nendoroid Mei Kamino" perfectly captures the genius yet somewhat eccentric graduate student in adorable Nendoroid form. Her signature messy hair, oversized glasses, and casual attire are all faithfully recreated! The figure comes with three interchangeable face plates: a "Standard Face," a "Smiling Face," and a "Confused Face." Also included are a uniquely designed kaiju backpack, a smartphone, a laptop, and the "Pelops II robot body," allowing fans to recreate various memorable scenes from the series!
