Japanese model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the latest addition to its new entry-level model kit series, "EVOROIDS," with the "EVV-GC1 G-Crawler" slated for release in April 2022.
The "EVOROIDS" line is a brand-new robot model kit series designed for ages 8 and up. It features designs by mechanical designer Kunio Okawara, manga artist Koichi Tokita, and toy design/planning company ASTRAYS, carrying on the legacy of the 1980s "OMOROID" toy series, which Okawara and Tokita also worked on. These kits boast a low-head design, making them significantly easier to assemble than previous Kotobukiya products, and each unit can transform into two distinct forms.
The latest release is the "EVV-GC1 G-Crawler," a unit specialized in ground combat. This kit comes molded in five distinct colors: military green, khaki, gunmetal, clear blue, and clear red. Utilizing standardized 3mm pegs and a core block system, it allows for easy assembly to recreate both its adorable robot form and its formidable heavy tank mode. Furthermore, parts can be interchanged with other kits in the series, as well as Kotobukiya's M.S.G (Modeling Support Goods), Frame Arms, Hexa Gear, and other models featuring 3mm joint compatibility for extensive customization!
