HUA JING x Junji Ito Collection Unveils Medical Masks, Now You Can Cosplay Souichi Without the Nails!

HUA JING Medical Materials, a Taiwanese company, has secured a license from renowned Japanese horror manga artist Junji Ito to release a series of Taiwan-made medical collaboration masks! These are definitely a must-have for collectors this Halloween, offering both protection and a stylish (if unsettling) way to showcase your love for Junji Ito's works!

This "Junji Ito Collaboration Medical Mask" collection features three distinct designs. They highlight some of Junji Ito's most popular characters: Tomie and Souichi, along with a design based on the famous story "Blood-bubble Bushes." The "Souichi" mask directly showcases his iconic "nails in mouth" look, allowing fans to channel Souichi's creepy, mischievous charm without actually having to hold nails. Just put on the mask, and you'll instantly exude that bizarre, eerie Souichi vibe. The "Tomie (The Painter)" design draws inspiration from the story "The Painter," featuring the scattered fragments of Tomie sculptures created by the sculptor Iwata. Meanwhile, the "Blood-bubble Bushes" mask perfectly captures the grotesque horror emanating from the bloodthirsty children in that tale.

Beyond the mind-bending mask designs, the packaging itself is thoughtfully crafted. Each box, containing 10 masks, features the "Junji Ito Collection" logo along with corresponding chapter covers. And since these are medical masks, their functionality is key! The three-layer protective structure enhances bacterial filtration while ensuring comfort during wear. The outermost layer is also made of water-repellent non-woven fabric, making these highly recommended for any Junji Ito fan.
