Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's brand T-ARTS is set to release its latest Yu-Gi-Oh!-themed capsule toy, the "Duel Disk Rings," in late October 2021. Each capsule will retail for 300 JPY.
The Duel Disk (デュエルディスク) was originally a card battling device designed and developed by Seto Kaiba, CEO of KaibaCorp. In the past, card battles required players to be at a fixed location, using a Duel Table to project monsters from their cards for thrilling duels. However, the revolutionary invention of the Duel Disk condensed all these functions into a single, wearable device. This small, disc-shaped machine allowed monster card duels to take place anytime, anywhere, bringing a dynamic, shonen manga-like energy to the battles. It profoundly influenced subsequent Yu-Gi-Oh! series, even enabling duels while riding motorcycles. Each successive generation of Duel Disks became even more over-the-top and flashy!
The "Duel Disk Rings" capsule toy series transforms the iconic Duel Disks used by the protagonists across seven Yu-Gi-Oh! series, from "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters" to "Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS," into rings ranging from approximately 3.8 to 5.2cm in size. Crafted from a substantial alloy material, these rings meticulously recreate the precise details of the Duel Disks, including their card zones. The integrated metal ring allows you to proudly wear these successive generations of Duel Disks!
