Bushiroad Creative's original capsule toy brand, TAMA-KYU, is set to release a charming new series: the "Taiko no Manju" (Ancient Creature Manju Beasts) capsule toys. Each gashapon will retail for 300 JPY, with a total of six delightful designs available, slated for an October 2021 launch.
This unique collection reimagines six extinct prehistoric creatures—the Sabertooth Tiger, Woolly Mammoth, Steller's Sea Cow, Dodo, Woolly Rhinoceros, and Pinta Island Tortoise—as soft, adorable Japanese confectionery manju. Each figure boasts a delicious-looking baked finish and is crafted from a pliable material for a satisfyingly squishy texture. The attention to detail extends to the packaging, with each "manju" realistically wrapped in paper, perfectly mimicking actual traditional Japanese sweets!
