Following the Z'Gok, Bandai's Gashapon brand has once again dropped exciting news for its highly anticipated capsule toy series, "EXCEED MODEL SD," unveiling the second installment today. This new release will feature the iconic Zeon mass-produced Mobile Suit from "Mobile Suit Gundam," the "Zaku II"!
The "EXCEED MODEL" series is renowned for its superior quality compared to standard capsule toys, with the capsule itself ingeniously forming part of the model. It reimagines the Mobile Suits from "Mobile Suit Gundam" into adorable SD forms, characterized by their round bodies and stubby limbs. These figures boast rich color applications and faithfully reproduce various body markings.
A prototype for the latest entry, the "EXCEED MODEL SD Zaku II," has now been revealed. Carrying over the design philosophy of its predecessor, the Zaku II features a head and limbs consistent with typical SD styling, but its body is comically exaggerated, appearing incredibly "chonky" – as if its BMI exceeded 40! Further product details will be announced at a later date.
