BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery and toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest addition to its highly detailed, 55mm-tall "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE" collectible figure series. Coming from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC," the new "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (Destroy Mode)" is slated for release in March 2022.
The Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility traces its origins to the "Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Plan B," which first appeared in the arcade card game "GUNDAM TRYAGE." Initially conceived as an alternative configuration for the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam, "Plan B" also alluded to "BLUE," resulting in a design where all beam weaponry and the psychoframe were rendered in blue. It was further enhanced with Armed Armor BS, VN, XC, and DE units, originally seen on the Banshee and Banshee Norn. Later, with the release of the "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" Blu-ray BOX, and to bridge the narrative with the third unit, "Phenex," from "Mobile Suit Gundam NT," the back-mounted Armed Armor DE was redesigned with a distinctive tail feather stabilizer. This definitive form was then officially renamed the Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility, truly representing the culmination of the Unicorn series.
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (Destroy Mode)" brings together a comprehensive array of armaments from previous Unicorn series mobile suits, including the Armed Armor VN, XC, and DE units, the Hyper Beam Javelin, and the Beam Magnum Rifle. This release also features newly sculpted Armed Armor BS and Beam Saber parts, with the Armed Armor BS boasting deployable cannon barrels.
The main Unicorn Gundam body, along with its full complement of weapons, is meticulously painted with its signature white armor and metallic blue psychoframe. The figure is further enhanced with an abundance of detailed body markings and decals, elevating its overall quality. The product also includes a dedicated display stand and interchangeable feet to recreate dynamic flight and floating poses.
