Japanese capsule toy maker KITAN CLUB is teaming up with designer Yatou Naoko (@yatou36) once again! Following the success of the first "Kotori no Kyujitsu" (Bird's Holiday) series, "Swimming Ring Sparrow," they're set to release the sequel capsule toy series, "Sniper Sparrow" (スナイパースズメ), in March 2022.
We previously covered Yatou Naoko's incredibly detailed, limited-edition "Sparrow Sniper" resin figures here. Now, collectors can finally get their hands on these seemingly adorable, yet secretly fierce, Sniper Sparrows at an accessible price point! This "Kotori no Kyujitsu: Sniper Sparrow" capsule toy series, which offers a peek into the hidden lives of urban sparrows, features a total of six designs. The lineup includes three sniper-pose sparrows (a common Sparrow, a female Russet Sparrow (ニュウナイスズメ), and a male House Sparrow (イエスズメ)), as well as three observer-pose sparrows (a common Sparrow, a male Russet Sparrow, and a female House Sparrow).
Standing at approximately 5 cm tall, these figures meticulously capture the anthropomorphic sparrows' body details and their signature brown, white, and black plumage. Their tiny bird feet are absolutely adorable! Whether wielding a sniper rifle or clutching binoculars, each pose delivers a hilariously dark and mischievous vibe. Imagine hiding them in various corners of your desk, combining them with other capsule toys to create truly unexpected and comical scenes – you'll definitely want to collect the whole set!
