Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel Co., Ltd. (株式会社千値練) today announced the latest addition to their popular alloy action figure series, "RIOBOT," featuring the "Dai Kyojin & Dai Tenma" from the classic anime "Yattodetaman" (ヤットデタマン), slated for release in April 2022.
The Dai Kyojin is a colossal robot that first appeared in Tatsunoko Production's fifth "Time Bokan" series installment, "Yattodetaman." Summoned by protagonist Toki Wataru using an ancestral key, Dai Kyojin possesses self-awareness and the ability to speak, proclaiming, "I hate the sin, not the sinner." Its immense compassion prevents it from attacking villains who beg for mercy. However, if provoked verbally three times, it will unleash its devastating finishing move, the "Dai Gekido," without hesitation!
The "RIOBOT Dai Kyojin & Dai Tenma" set features Dai Kyojin and its support mecha, Dai Tenma, both meticulously crafted at a size of 15-16 cm. Blending retro aesthetics with modern engineering, the figures boast excellent articulation and a sophisticated transformation and combination design. Dai Kyojin can transform into its flight mode, "Kyojin-go," while Dai Tenma converts into its tank mode, "Dai Tenma Tank." Furthermore, both machines can combine to form the even more imposing "Dai Majin" and "Dai Majin Tank" forms!
Notably, when combining into "Dai Majin," collectors have two options: either the classic "fold legs backward" method, often seen in vintage toys, or the "direct leg removal" method, which more accurately replicates its appearance in the anime.
