SEGA PRIZE, the collectible brand under Japanese game company SEGA, is set to release a new addition to its highly popular SPM (Super Premium Figure) series. Following the Asuka and Rei Ayanami (Provisional Name) figures, the latest entry will be a "Mari Illustrious Makinami" figure, based on the blockbuster "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time." This figure is slated for release in March 2022!
Hailing from the UK, Mari Illustrious Makinami (真希波・マリ・イラストリアス) is an EVA pilot affiliated with NERV's European branch. Unlike other pilots, she's an upbeat and battle-loving individual, maintaining a cheerful and relaxed demeanor even during combat. She's known for her habit of adding "Meow~" to the end of her sentences and is a highly popular glasses-wearing character. In "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo," she joins WILLE, the anti-NERV organization led by Misato Katsuragi, piloting EVA Unit-08 alongside Asuka's EVA Modified Unit-02.
The "SPM Mari Illustrious Makinami" figure stands approximately 18 cm tall. It faithfully recreates Mari's signature look, featuring her pink plugsuit, red-framed glasses with clear lenses, and dark brown low twin-tails. Posed alluringly, leaning against a rocky base, her relaxed and casual smile perfectly captures Mari's unique personality.
