Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today announced its latest event-exclusive item from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans": the "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos [Iron-Blood Coating]". This highly anticipated kit is set to launch at GUNDAM BASE stores starting November 13, 2021.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos [Iron-Blood Coating]" is a modified version of the standard release kit that debuted in December 2019. This kit meticulously recreates the Gundam Barbatos's 4th Form, with precise attention to the colors, articulation, and intricate details of its internal Gundam Frame. Utilizing a rich array of molded colors to faithfully reproduce the mobile suit's original palette, it also features a rotating Ahab Reactor mechanism in the chest. Furthermore, the kit boasts impressive interlocking mechanisms between the upper body, shoulder, and knee armor with the hydraulic pipes of the frame, enhancing the model's detail density and allowing for more natural and dynamic poses.
This exclusive edition significantly revamps the original molded colors. The armor parts, originally white, have been electroplated to achieve a highly textured iron-gray finish. The remaining armor and frame components are also molded in various metallic colors, giving the completed model an incredibly weighty and unpainted, raw metal aesthetic.
