Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today announced its latest event-exclusive item from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing": the "HG 1/144 Gundam Deathscythe [Clear Color]". It is scheduled to be released at GUNDAM BASE starting November 13, 2021.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Deathscythe [Clear Color]" is a modified version of the standard kit released in May 2021. It faithfully recreates the TV anime design, featuring sliding mechanisms in the shoulder and knee armor for more natural poses, especially when wielding the scythe with both hands. Its signature weapon, the "Beam Scythe," comes with two interchangeable beam effect parts, and a stowed scythe can be mounted on the rear skirt armor. The "Buster Shield" features a left-right deployment gimmick for its blade parts and can be equipped with beam effects to replicate its firing mode.
This exclusive edition replaces various exterior armor parts with clear molded colors, offering a unique translucent texture compared to the original kit. This also makes it more convenient for special customization techniques like adding internal lighting or glow-in-the-dark paints, resulting in a distinct style different from standard Gunpla builds.
