Following the release of the all-new METAL ROBOT Damashii Wing Gundam Zero, BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division has announced the latest addition to the "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" lineup: the "METAL ROBOT Damashii Gundam Epyon," slated for a June 2022 release. This highly anticipated figure, featuring metallic paint applications and a die-cast frame, will be a Premium Bandai exclusive.
The OZ-13MS Gundam Epyon is a transformable mobile suit secretly developed by former OZ leader Treize Khushrenada during his dismissal and confinement. Its design was based on data from the Tallgeese and the five Gundams. Unlike other weapons designed for slaughter and victory, the Epyon reflects Treize's chivalrous spirit and beliefs. Its armament consists solely of close-combat weapons suited for duels, including a beam saber, a shield equipped with a heat rod, and twin claws on its forearms. The unit boasts exceptional mobility, a transformation mechanism into its high-speed "Twin Bird Mode," and is also equipped with the "Epyon System," which is analogous to the Wing Gundam Zero's "ZERO System." Its performance was among the top tier in the series.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Gundam Epyon" faithfully recreates its appearance from the TV anime series using entirely new molds. Portions of the internal frame are constructed with electroplated die-cast parts, providing both strength and a satisfying heft. The armor features a rich, heavy paint finish and printed markings. Furthermore, it incorporates a transformation mechanism to accurately reproduce its high-speed flight Mobile Armor (MA) form, resembling a twin-headed dragon!
Its armaments include a beam saber, a heat rod, and the massive wing thrusters on its back. The beam saber comes with two effect parts: a standard effect and a high-output effect. The heat rod is articulated with a metal wire, allowing for free bending and dynamic posing. The two large wings also feature multi-stage articulation, enabling precise angle adjustments to match various scene poses. Additionally, the product includes special hand parts designed to be used with the separately sold METAL ROBOT Damashii Wing Gundam Zero, allowing collectors to recreate the iconic confrontation scene from the anime's opening sequence!
